Frequently Asked Questions

Licensing & Insurance

  • Yes. Say Construction is fully licensed in New York State and carries comprehensive general liability insurance as well as workers' compensation coverage. We are happy to provide proof of licensing and insurance upon request before any work begins.

  • All subcontractors engaged by Say Construction are required to carry their own valid licenses and insurance. We verify this before bringing any third party onto your project to ensure you are fully protected throughout the construction process.

Pricing & Bids

  • You can reach our estimating team directly at estimating@saybuilders.com.

We work closely with closing consultants and owners' representatives to ensure bids are prepared in your required format and meet the specifications of your funding agency.

  • Project costs are influenced by several variables, including the scope and complexity of the work, materials, site conditions, local permit fees, and project timeline. We provide transparent, itemised estimates so you understand exactly where your investment is going.

  • We strive to provide accurate and thorough estimates from the outset. However, unforeseen site conditions or client-requested changes to the scope of work may affect the final cost. Any variations will be communicated to you promptly and will require your written approval before additional work proceeds.

Process & Communication

  • We maintain a dedicated back office compliance team whose sole focus is managing the documentation, reporting, and regulatory requirements associated with publicly funded projects. This allows our Project Managers and Site Superintendents to remain focused on running the job efficiently and to schedule.

  • We have extensive experience collaborating with owners' reps and closing consultants on city and state funded projects. Our estimating and compliance teams are well-versed in preparing bids and documentation in the formats required by various funding agencies, making the process as seamless as possible for all parties involved.

  • When you work with Say Construction, you have an entire team working on your behalf. Your Project Manager is your primary day-to-day point of contact, supported by a dedicated Site Superintendent managing on-site operations. Behind them, your account executives and company ownership are actively involved in key decisions throughout the life of the project — ensuring nothing falls through the cracks and that your project always has the attention it deserves.

  • We manage all of our projects through Procore, a leading construction management platform. Clients and project team members are given direct access to a full project dashboard, providing real-time visibility into schedules, documents, RFIs, submittals, and overall job health. Your Project Manager is also available to address questions at any time, and we welcome site visits by appointment.

  • Any changes to the original scope of work are managed through a formal change order process. We document the requested change, provide a revised cost and timeline estimate, and obtain your written approval before proceeding — ensuring full transparency and protecting all parties throughout the project.

  • Upon completion, we conduct a thorough walkthrough to ensure every aspect of the work meets your expectations and our quality standards. Any outstanding items are documented and resolved promptly, and all required closeout documentation is prepared and submitted in accordance with the requirements of your funding agency.
